Many people visit the Piedmont Environmental Center to learn, conserve and enjoy the natural world through hands-on experiences emphasizing the interrelated and fragile nature of life.

But did you know that it also boasts some of the best hiking trails too? It is also where the High Point Greenway and the Bicentennial Greenway come together!

I am lucky that the Piedmont Environmental Center is just down the street from where I live. This place has so many hiking trails you could visit here daily and still manage to explore new trails on every visit.

High Point offers 6.6 miles of natural surface trail through the hardwood and pine forest and lakeside habitats.

  • Bill Faver Lakeshore Trail (white marker) – 1.8 miles
  • Fiddlehead Trail (yellow marker) – .2 miles
  • Pine Thicket Trail (red marker) – .2 miles
  • Dogwood Trail (orange marker) – .4 miles
  • Chickadee Trail (green marker) – .3 miles
  • Raccoon Run Trail (blue marker) – .6 miles
  • Wildflower Trail (purple marker) – .4 miles
