Rich Fork Preserve has to be one of my favorite Hiking Spots in High Point North Carolina. Not only can you hike here if you have a mountain bike they have a great course with lots of trails that will challenge even experienced mountain bikers.
Rich Fork Preserve features a highly diverse trail system crafted from the unique topography found on-site. Features include hiking, and biking, and offer users a chance to view incredible arrays of wildlife and preserved historic structures.

Rich Fork Preserve has basically 2 Hiking Courses. One course is fairly short and splits in 2 half of a mile track, the top track does a loop looking down on a creek, beware the hill is very steep on this course.
The other short trail goes down to a creek which is perfect to wade in and cool off in the summer. My kids love going down here and looking for crayfish.
The shorter trails will take you maybe 30 minutes to hike both and offer some cool views. Beyond its natural beauty, Rich Fork Preserve also holds historical significance. If you really want to go hiking I recommend taking the left trail which is also open for mountain bikers. If you look at the photo below you will see how wide the trail is.
This trail is much longer and goes past the same creek but it also goes up a small mountain and goes on for miles. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a beginner seeking a leisurely stroll, Rich Fork Preserve offers trails that cater to all skill levels. The creek area here goes on for about half of a mile and offers plenty of places to pop a squat.
